What does Corsair Custom 3D do?
Corsair Custom 3D is a home-based shop run by Jose that offers FDM 3D printing and FDM 3D printer repair. It prints a lot of R/C planes and jets, and also custom and replacement parts for companies. All work is guaranteed.
Where is the shop located and who do you serve?
The shop is home-based in Mississauga, ON and serves surrounding areas, including much of the Greater Toronto Area. There is no public storefront, so jobs are arranged by message. Small printed parts can often be shipped, and some printer repair help works remotely.
Do you print with resin?
No. The shop works only in FDM, where plastic filament is melted and laid down in layers. That focus means the machines and materials are well understood, and it keeps the quality high.
Which materials can you print?
The main materials are PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA and flexible TPU. Which one is right depends on strength, heat, sunlight and flexibility. Other filaments can be discussed on request, after checking the printers can handle them.
How accurate are FDM prints?
Well-tuned FDM prints typically land within a few tenths of a millimetre on most features. Fits are planned with deliberate clearance, usually 0.3 to 0.5 mm per mating surface. For critical fits, a small test print is recommended.
Do I need to supply a 3D file?
No. STL, 3MF or STEP files are ideal, but photos, sketches and measurements are enough to start. Where a model must be created, it is built parametrically so changes are quick, and designs can be retained for reorders if you agree.
Is there a minimum order?
No. A single spare part is a normal job, and so is a small run of identical parts. Pricing reflects material, print time, design work and finishing.
How do I get a quote?
Email corsaircustom3d@gmail.com with a description of the part or the printer problem, photos with something for scale, the quantity and the date you need it. The reply will include questions or a quote, and nothing is printed or repaired before you agree.
What 3D printer repairs do you handle?
Common repairs include extruder clogs and under-extrusion, bed leveling and first-layer problems, loose or worn belts, hot end, heater and thermistor faults, cooling fans, and firmware and Klipper tuning. Only FDM printers are covered, not resin machines.
Can you set up or tune Klipper?
Yes. That includes installing the host software, building the printer configuration, flashing the board, and tuning items such as extruder calibration, PID, pressure advance, input shaping and bed mesh. If a simpler Marlin setup is a better fit, you will be told.
Can you print parts for R/C planes and jets?
Yes. R/C aircraft are a big part of the shop. Typical jobs include airframe sections, fins, nose cones, motor and servo mounts, control horns, ducting and crash-repair parts, printed in a material chosen for weight, strength and heat.
Can you copy a broken part that has no drawing?
Often yes. The part is measured with calipers and modelled from the physical object and photos. The broken part is the best reference, even in pieces. A test print is sensible when the geometry is complex.
Is my design kept confidential?
Files, drawings and photos are used only for your job and are not published or shared. You can ask for them to be deleted afterwards or kept for easy reordering. Mention any confidentiality needs in your first message.
What does the guarantee cover?
Jose guarantees both prints and repairs. If a print does not match the agreed specification, fails in use because of how it was printed, or a repair does not hold because of the work, the issue is investigated and put right by reprinting, reworking or repeating the repair. Damage from misuse, and uses outside the agreed purpose, are not covered.
Is there a warranty period?
There is no fixed time limit. 3D prints can behave differently once they are in real use, so Jose is very lenient on reprints and covers genuine warranty issues rather than counting days. Contact Jose with photos and a description, and the problem will be looked at fairly.
How do pickup, delivery and payment work?
Because the shop is home-based, there is no public counter. Pickup, drop-off or shipping are arranged per job, and payment details are agreed in the quote before work begins.
Can you print safety-critical parts?
FDM parts are not certified components. Parts that could injure someone or damage property if they fail should not be made this way unless a qualified professional approves the design. Jose will tell you when a part is not suitable.
What is the webcam mount case study?
It is a worked example of a custom part: a 3D-printed webcam mount for a curved monitor, developed across three versions with AI assistance and a parametric model, and printed in-house. The latest version uses a printed M16 thumbscrew and pans 90 degrees each way. It shows how measurement, clearances and iteration lead to a good fit.
Where to read more
Printing
The 3D printing services page compares PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA and TPU, explains tolerances, and describes layer height, walls, infill, supports and finishing. If you are printing parts for a company, the business parts page covers spares, fixtures, prototypes and confidentiality.
Repairs
The printer repair page walks through extruder clogs, bed leveling, belts, hot ends and Klipper tuning, with advice on how to prevent repeat failures.
R/C aircraft
The R/C planes and jets page describes printed airframes, fins, nose cones and mounts, and explains how hollow printed structures keep weight down.
Process and guarantee
The ordering process lists exactly what to send, and the quality guarantee explains how problems are handled. The about page describes who you will be dealing with, and the gallery shows finished work.
Quick tips before you write
- Say where the part will live: indoors, outdoors, warm, wet or under load.
- Photograph the original with a ruler or coin for scale.
- Mention your deadline, even if it is flexible.
- For repairs, name the printer model and describe what changed before the problem started.
